Katie serves as Program Director at HandsOn Twin Cities, where she leads the nonprofit membership program and delivery of services to HandsOn members and nonprofit partners. In this role, she develops strategies and partnerships that help nonprofits strengthen their capacity through volunteer engagement. She also manages the searchable volunteer opportunity database, communications to nonprofits, and supports a range of capacity-building efforts including training and consulting. Katie earned her Bachelor’s degree in Family Social Science from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.

Katie joined HandsOn Twin Cities over 27 years ago when it was known as The Volunteer Center in St. Paul. Over the years, Katie managed numerous programs and staff, including AmeriCorps initiatives, Service Enterprise, various events and special projects, and office operations.  Katie’s experience in the nonprofit sector includes implementing successful membership recruitment and engagement strategies, cultivating strong partnerships, organizing and leading events, and developing and delivering training. Prior to her career in the nonprofit sector, she also worked for Target Corporation and the University of Minnesota.

In her free time, Katie is an outdoor enthusiast who loves to garden and explore new walking trails. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, practicing yoga, baking, and expressing her creativity through pottery, crafts, decorating, and house projects.
