Juneteenth
June 19
Juneteenth, celebrated on June 19, marks the day in 1865 when the last enslaved people in the United States were informed of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It stands as a powerful reminder of resilience, liberation, and the ongoing pursuit of justice. In honor of this historic day, HandsOn Twin Cities is excited to share a variety of ways for individuals and groups to come together through service, celebration, and community connection. Whether you're volunteering, supporting a local initiative, or simply gathering to celebrate and be in community, your participation matters. Join us in honoring Juneteenth through meaningful action and shared reflection that helps strengthen and unite the Twin Cities.
