Position Title: Relationship Manager, Pro Bono Advisory Program (full-time, salaried, manager-level position)
Reports to: Director of Pro Bono Advisory Program
Location: Hybrid workplace with the ability to mainly work from home with occasional in-person meetings and events. HandsOn Twin Cities office is in Saint Paul, MN.

Purpose of Position
The Pro Bono Advisory Team is a high-impact department at HandsOn Twin Cities that mobilizes private-sector talent to meet critical social-sector needs. Through accessible, community-based programming—such as the Connected for Change Day series—we match skilled subject-matter experts with high-potential nonprofits to strengthen organizational capacity and advance mission outcomes.
In addition, we partner with corporate clients ranging from local startups to global Fortune 500 companies to design, develop, and implement meaningful pro bono opportunities for employees. These partnerships support capacity-building efforts for nonprofits and small businesses locally and nationwide, while helping corporate partners align skills-based volunteerism with their broader corporate social responsibility goals.
In this role, you will:
Manage a portfolio of corporate clients, including:
Providing strategic guidance on pro bono program design and advising on best practices
Leading program development, execution, and continuous improvement
Attending and leading key engagements such as trainings, strategic meetings, and evaluations
Creating and collaborating on all engagement materials, including project scopes, training decks, surveys, and reports
Assessing the infrastructure and capacity needs of nonprofits and other social change organizations and supporting effective project scoping
Managing projects to ensure high-quality outcomes, clear timelines, and strong partner experiences
Lead and/or support the planning and execution of community-based pro bono programming and events, such as Connected for Change Days
Build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including corporate partners, foundation funders, volunteers, nonprofits, and small businesses
Contribute to the refinement and strategic direction of the Pro Bono Advisory Program through participation in strategic planning, program goal setting, and cross-functional collaboration
Actively engage in HandsOn Twin Cities’ diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts and integrate equity-centered practices into all aspects of your work
Support the planning and delivery of HandsOn Twin Cities’ signature events and corporate projects, as needed
Contribute to organizational storytelling by helping capture and communicate the impact of pro bono partnerships and community outcomes
We’re looking for someone who has:
· At least 2+ years of experience in program or project management, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and see work through from concept to completion
· Experience in client services and/or nonprofit capacity building, with an appreciation for both relationship-building and results
· A genuine passion for pro bono work and a deep commitment to creating meaningful, community-centered social impact
· The ability to do your best work in a flexible, fast-moving environment while maintaining a high standard of quality and follow-through
· Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, paired with sound judgment and a collaborative mindset
· Comfort and confidence communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, from corporate executives to small business owners to grassroots nonprofit leaders
· A track record of leading projects and programs from strategy through implementation, adapting as needs evolve
· Ease navigating ambiguity and change, with curiosity, resilience, and a willingness to learn
· Access to reliable transportation
Compensation Package
Pay. The salary range for this position is $56,000 – $60,000 annually. In keeping with our values of equity and transparency, we determine starting salaries within this range based on experience and qualifications. To ensure fairness across our team, we do not negotiate salaries beyond the posted range.
Bonus. This is contingent upon the individual’s performance and the organization’s overall financial results. Bonuses are not guaranteed and are awarded at the organization’s discretion.
Savings/Retirement Plan. Employees are eligible to participate in the company’s SIMPLE IRA Plan, with a matching contribution equal to their salary reduction contribution, up to 3% of their annual compensation.
Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance. Administered by HealthPartners, Delta Dental, and Avesis.
