Custom Project Examples

These are only a few examples of how we can support nonprofits’ volunteer and supply needs by engaging corporate employees in service opportunities. Our goal is to help meet the custom projects that your organization has identified, and to make it as easy as possible for you by having a dedicated HOTC Project Planner manage the volunteer project from start to finish whether onsite at the nonprofit or at a corporate office.

Have an idea of a project? Our Corporate Projects Team will work with you to scope projects, procure materials, set-up and clean-up, coordinate volunteers, and more at no cost to you. If you have any questions or project ideas, contact Tori Hansen, Senior Corporate Project Planner at tori@handsontwincities.org OR submit a Wish List Projects and Supply Needs Form

Cleaning

Volunteers helped Pinky Swear Foundation move out of their warehouse and re-organized a storage closet to make best use of the space.

Painting

Volunteers can help clean and paint indoor and outdoor areas. We have painted and touched up all kinds of spaces from entire rooms to smaller spaces to murals and outdoor line games on cement or asphalt.

Outdoor Beautification

Como Park Elementary

Volunteers overhauled the school’s courtyard, which is visible from many classrooms. Volunteers weeded the courtyard, installed new edging and landscape fabric, mulched, and planted perennials which will flower every spring. In addition, another group worked on the main entrance of the school where they weeded, mulched and split hostas to even out the landscape. All this work provides a more welcoming entrance for families and students as they enter the school.
