Building the infrastructure behind Minnesota's culture of service.

What if every nonprofit in Minnesota had the volunteers, partnerships, and tools they needed to thrive?

Imagine a Minnesota where every nonprofit, no matter its size or location, has access to the resources needed to effectively engage volunteers, build community partnerships, and increase its impact. Let’s work together to make that vision a reality.

HandsOn Twin Cities has received a Volunteer Generation Fund grant through ServeMN to support the work of volunteer leaders across the state. Our goal is to engage volunteer professionals and champions across sectors to reimagine and design a statewide volunteer infrastructure that supports the staff, volunteers, and organizations of Minnesota.

Be part of a growing network of nonprofit, corporate, volunteer, and community leaders working to strengthen volunteer engagement across Minnesota. Sign up to receive updates, opportunities to participate, and resources as this statewide effort evolves.

Join us for virtual statewide conversations on August 19 or August 27, followed by an in-person convening in November. Connect with peers, exchange ideas, and help shape the future of volunteer engagement across Minnesota.

Volunteer engagement is changing.

Today's volunteers are looking for flexible, skills-based, and meaningful ways to contribute.

Communities are facing increasingly complex challenges.

No single organization can solve them alone. Strong partnerships and shared infrastructure are essential.

Volunteer engagement isn't just about filling shifts. When organizations have the right systems, training, technology, and partnerships, volunteers become a powerful force for stronger communities.

Nonprofits rely on volunteers.

Yet many struggle to recruit, train, and retain them.

Imagine a Minnesota where...

...a volunteer coordinator ends the day energized instead of exhausted because they have the tools and support they need.

...every nonprofit, no matter where it is in the state, can connect with volunteers, resources, and expertise to strengthen its mission.

...a community is ready to respond when disaster strikes because trusted partnerships already exist.

...a parent finds a family-friendly volunteer opportunity that becomes a monthly tradition.

...companies share the talents and expertise of their employees to help nonprofits accelerate their impact and bring ambitious ideas to life.

...every Minnesotan who wants to make a difference knows exactly where to begin.
