Agency: Macalester-Groveland Living at Home/Block Nurse Program

Description: Volunteers help neighborhood seniors maintain their independence through support and by lending a hand in the Macalester-Groveland community.

Responsbilities:
*Volunteer drivers help neighborhood seniors by providing transportation (using own vehicle)for shopping, errands, appointments and social activities as arranged with volunteer and the client.
*Participate in required orientation and complete necessary paperwork.
*Refer client(s) as appropriate to Macalester-Groveland Seniors staff for other needed health or social services. *Consult as needed with Volunteer Coordinator.
*Maintain client confidentiality. *Adhere to all policies and procedures of the Macalester-Groveland Senior Program.
*Report volunteer hours as requested.

Qualifications:
*Must be at least 18 years old. *Interest in working with elderly neighbors.
*Valid drivers license, have automobile insurance and a good driving record.
*Reliability in scheduling time and keeping appointments.
*Good listening skills.
*Caring, compassionate and patient.
