Volunteer Resource Specialist (Any Age)

Position Description: Passionate about volunteering? Help HOTC produce volunteering resources for the community! HOTC is dedicated to providing meaningful volunteer experiences to community members. We produce three seasonal volunteer guides made up of opportunities submitted to us by our community nonprofit partners. HOTC also coordinates and facilitates weeks of service involving various corporate and nonprofit partners, which we need to capture and share the impact with the community.

About HandsOn Twin Cities: HandsOn Twin Cities is the Twin Cities only full service volunteer center that both promotes and facilitates volunteerism while improving the community’s ability to create more impact with the time generously given by volunteers.  We work with all types of volunteers, companies and nonprofit affiliates to ensure that every hour spent in the community is valuable.

Purpose of Position: The primary goals of the HOTC Volunteer Resource Specialist is to help HOTC produce our Spring/Summer Volunteer Guide as well as impact reports from our two weeks of service in April.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Help produce our Spring/Summer Volunteer Guide!
    • Using template (in Publisher), format and categorize volunteer opportunities.
    • Assist with design, proofing, and editing.
  • Help our Projects Team create Project Impact Reports.
    • Input photos and project data into report template.
    • Assist with design, proofing, and editing.
  • Other relevant duties may present themselves based on need.

Qualifications and Requirements: 

  • Good communication skills.
  • Daytime availability.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Familiarity with Google Docs, Microsoft Office, and Publisher.

Time Commitment: Flexible. Starting the beginning of April for at least a month. 8 to 12 hours per week. Potential opportunity for long-term volunteer role.
