Minnesota Literacy Council

Who We Are

Our team serves Minnesotans of all ages — from 3-year-olds mastering their ABCs to grandparents determined to get their GED. We are able to reach nearly 90,000 children and adults each year thanks in great part to the more than 2,000 volunteers and 115 national service members we train annually.

What We Do

Our volunteers serve as a one-to-on tutors, classroom tutors, small group leaders, teachers, or with administrative support. They work with children or adult learners to help them gain the skills they need to achieve their educational goals. Opportunities are available throughout the Twin Cities during the daytime or evening. We provide training and support in a fun, people-centered environment. GROUPS: Size from 4 to 20. Both adults and youth, minimum age of 16.
