On the morning of Wednesday,
April 30th, 150 volunteers from Target and 50
from the Bryn Mawr community "Made Noise in the
Library" at Bryn Mawr Elementary School in
Minneapolis!

Volunteers
organize donated books in the Bryn Mawr Media
Center
Though the project required weeks of planning
and design work by the Hands On Twin Cities
staff, talented Team Members at Target, and the
dedicated staff at Bryn Mawr, the volunteers
needed just two and a half hours to give the
school a major make over.
Volunteers built and
installed furniture in reading nooks and common
spaces, painted murals, transformed the media
center's performance space into a magical
treehouse, catalogued new, donated books,
re-organized old ones, planted trees and built
mosaic benches in the courtyard, and worked with
students on reading-related projects and making
poetry stones.

As always, it is wonderful to see the amount of
work that motivated volunteers can accomplish in
a single day, let alone a single morning.
Fantastic service projects need fantastic
partners, and Target Corporation and Bryn Mawr
Elementary School had the dedication, passion,
and motivation to make some pretty big dreams a
reality.
