Accenture Volunteers organizing books at Bryn Mawr Elementary.
HandsOn Twin Cities Day 2009 took place on June 12. Thanks to our great volunteers, our community partners and our sponsors the event was a tremendous success.
UnitedHealth Group and Accenture engaged volunteers at Glen Lake Elementary in Minnetonka in classroom cleaning projects and landscaping work that saved the engineering staff approximately 8 weeks of work.

Accenture and Best Buy volunteered for Cityview Performing Arts Magnet in north Minneapolis completing projects that will get the 2009-2010 school year off to a great start, and another group of Accenture volunteers worked on a variety of projects at a third school, Bryn Mawr Elementary leveling books and cleaning areas which will be a great assistance to their teachers.
Target and Travelers volunteers worked with Friends of the Mississippi River on two environmental projects in St. Paul.

A Sixth project was working with the Central Library in Downtown Minneapolis. Accenture volunteers assisted librarians move several collections in one afternoon which avoided weeks of disrupting patrons if the librarians were to complete this move on their own.
Thank you to all our sponsors for making this event possible; Accenture, UnitedHealth Group, Target, Travelers, Best Buy, Cargill, Xcel Entergy, Thomson Reuters and the Star Tribune.
