Corporate Month
of Service at Southside Family Charter School in
Minneapolis
Saturday, October 13
As 20 of their co-workers
were showing their community spirit at Johnson
Elementary in St. Paul, 37 UBS volunteers got to
work cleaning up Southside Family Charter School
in Minneapolis. It was a day of
Synchronized Volunteering!

The camera was
just wide enough to get all the volunteers in
one shot.
These intrepid volunteers
weeded and cleaned the Southside Community
Garden, planted new shrubs and trees by the
school entrance, painted 3 murals (one of which
is proudly displayed in the above photo), moved
30 cubic yards of new mulch into the playground,
and harvested pumpkins from the garden for
students.

Many thanks to the Southside
Family Charter School staff for their help in
planning a great day of volunteering. And
thanks especially to the UBS volunteers
themselves, whose can-do attitude is outdone
only by their community spirit.
