Best Buy volunteers making a difference in Minneapolis

What were you doing on Friday morning, June 27, 2008? Hands on Twin Cities had its hands full with over 50 volunteers from Best Buy and their vendors making the Plymouth Christian Youth Center (PCYC) and Capri Theater a better place!

Stuffing backpacks as fast as possible!

Volunteers were able to choose between 5 different project areas. At the PCYC volunteers stuffed 180 backpacks with school supplies, installed 14 new computers, donated by Best Buy & scoured the building washing windows. 

Across the parking lot at the Capri Theater, which is operated by the PCYC, volunteers worked hard, washing theater seats & mopping the stage and theater floors, to clean up the last remaining live theater in North Minnapolis.

Great computers make great students

Doing all this rewarding work can definitely make any volunteer hungry. Luckily the final group made a mountain of pancakes and bacon. After all of the projects were completed volunteers shared a pancake breakfast with PCYC students and staff.
