Here are some websites with great information on volunteering, donating, and community involvement in the Twin Cities.  If you know about a website that should be on here, let us know!

  • Smart Givers Network - A service of the Charities Review Council, this great database lists charities by the type of donated goods they accept, how to donate, and even lists charities that will come pick up donated goods.
  • Volunteer Centers of Minnesota - An association of Volunteer Centers all over the State.  A resource for finding volunteer opportunities outside of the Metro Area.
  • Corporate Volunteerism Council Twin Cities - An organization promoting collaboration between businesses and non-profits on community service efforts.
  • Single Volunteers of the Twin Cities - An organization of civic-minded singles in the Metro Area who enjoy volunteering. 
  • Mentoring Partnership of Minnesota: Tools for Mentoring Adolescents - This NEW online resource guide from the Mentoring Partnership's Training Institute offers ideas & insights for mentors and mentoring program staff to enhance relationships with teens and recruiting more community members to support young people during adolescence.
  • VolunteerResource.org - A comprehensive library of resources on volunteering and effective volunteer management.  Brought to you by the Points of Light Foundation. 
  • Nonprofit Risk Management Center -

    provides numerous resources on risk management including risk management for volunteer programs. Their website has a variety of free articles, risk assessment tools and technical assistance where questions can be sent to be answered by experts.
